Reid Jubb Brown Architecture

With a core team of 12 highly talented architects, supported by skilled staff our team is extremely well rounded. In experience terms there is virtually no type of project that we have not had direct experience on - from transport exchanges and urban planning through to commercial developments and designer homes we’ve pretty much done it all!
From Italy to China, Finland to Britain we boast a pan European / Asian team all bringing a unique set of skills and perspectives to the equation.

Director
Kevin Brown
Once one of Terry Farrell’s protégés where he worked on some of the most famous buildings in London, Kevin has over 26 years of award winning Architectural experience.
Kevin who studied ‘Sacred geometry and Geomancy’ (spirals and numbers to us!) has worked on a diverse range of projects from designing the Crypt for the Bishop of Sheffield through to work on the footbridge and associated buildings for the World Student games in Sheffield.
He has twice exhibited work at the prestigious Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and regularly invited to lecture at the countries top Architectural Universities in the UK and Northern Ireland.
Founding Reid Jubb Brown in 1998, Kevin is the visionary behind some of the north east's most iconic buildings including, The Place, Sunderland; House on the Lake, a PP27 Development; the Haymarket Hub, Newcastle; and Whalton Mill, a house being filmed for Channel 4’s Grand Designs.
Kevin is perhaps best summed up by one of his clients’ Adam Serfontein’ of Hanro who said, "he makes the impossible, possible".

Director
Alastair Bell
A Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) registered Chartered Architect, Alastair boasts over 10 years of architectural practice.
Formerly a director of his own practice Alastair teamed up with Reid Jubb Brown in 2007 to pool skills and concentrate on developing highly competent areas of design implementation.
He specialises in finding practical solutions to build projects ensuring they stay true to the original vision behind any design. It is often said that ‘the devil is in the detail’ and this is where Alastair comes into his own. He is responsible for taking build projects from ‘post planning’ through to completion and has a particularly strong eye for detail.
With several years of ‘old fashioned’ on site building experience Alastair is also well positioned to advise clients on the pro’s and con’s of different methods and solutions to particular designs and building regulations issues.

Alastair has an enviable record of successful developments behind his name, including:
- Grade II Listed Building Restoration - Value £xx
- Educational Establishments - Value £5m
- Factory Production Facilities - Value £35m
- Start Up Units - Value £xx
- Health Care - Value £xx
- Public Transport - Value £xx
- Grand Designs Homes - Value £ 1m

Director
Paul Hacking
A fully qualified Chartered Architect, Paul’s is the hub around which Reid Jubb Brown works.
As well as being client facing, his is role is to co-ordinate and integrate skills throughout the firm, bringing the appropriate talent at each given stage of a project to the table.
Specialising in planning applications, it is Paul who ensures all planning applications are robust and well thought through in order to maximise success. Key to this process is the need to understand planning policy at a local and sub regional level.
Co-ordinating all key elements from planning documents, and designs statements, through to public consultations and the employing of planning consultants is all in a days work for Paul.
