L'edificio costituisce un'applicazione convincente delle potenzialità e qualità
del sistema costruttivo adottato e, con la sua essenzialità concettuale, uno
straordinario esempio di razionalità funzionale ed efficienza realizzativa.
L'approfondito studio della tecnologia lignea, condotto in maniera sinergica
dal progettista e dal committente (un'azienda specializzata nella lavorazione
del legno), ha portato alla definizione di un sistema costruttivo flessibile
tale da poter essere vantaggiosamente impiegato anche in altre tipologie di
edifici. Il legno viene utilizzato al contempo sia come elemento strutturale,
sia come materiale di involucro in maniera tale da garantire, con un limitato
apporto di altri elementi, delle prestazioni tipiche di un edificio a basso
consumo energetico. La concezione morfologica del progetto contribuisce in
maniera passiva al raggiungimento di un ottimale bilancio energetico: il
compatto volume è circondato da una pensilina perimetrale continua che funge da
adeguato filtro climatico nelle varie stagioni e protegge l'involucro dagli
agenti atmosferici, garantendone un'elevata durabilità.
Le capacità progettuali si evincono anche dall'attento controllo di tutti i
dettagli costruttivi e dall'elevata qualità degli spazi progettati, che
risultano pienamente funzionali ad ospitare le attività previste offrendo
ottimali condizioni termoigrometriche e di illuminazione naturale.
The building represents a convincing application of the potential and quality of
the construction system adopted and the essentiality of its concept makes it an
extraordinary example of functional rationality and realisational efficiency.
The in-depth study of wood technology carried out in synergy by the designer
and the client (a specialist wood-working company) led to definition of a
flexible construction system which can be advantageously transferred to other
types of building. Wood is used as both structural element and building
envelope, guaranteeing (with the limited addition of other elements) the
typical performance of a low energy consumption building. The project's
morphological conception makes a passive contribution to achieving an optimum
energy balance. The building is surrounded by a continuous perimeter shelter
which provides an adequate climatic filter in the various seasons and protects
the building envelope from atmospheric agents, guaranteeing a high degree of
durability. The design capabilities are also evident in the meticulous
attention to all construction details and the high quality of the resulting
spaces, fully functional for the activities they are designed to accommodate,
offering excellent temperature and humidity conditions and natural lighting.
